In this session, we attune to the five primary currents through which prāṇa moves. Apāna Vāyu is the downward-flowing current, grounding, eliminating, and releasing. Udāna Vāyu is the upward-moving current, lifting energy, voice, and spirit. Prāṇa Vāyu is the inward-drawing current, receiving life and breath into the heart-space. Vyāna Vāyu is the expansive current, radiating and circulating energy through the whole body. Samāna Vāyu is the centering current, gathering and digesting — at the belly, at the core. These vāyus are not ideas to memorize, but movements to feel — the grounding, the rising, the receiving, the spreading, the centering — currents already alive in you.
